Daphine (Daff-een) is in P.4 (fourth grade). Her favorite subject is English. For fun she likes to play net ball with her friends. When she grows up she would like to be a doctor. Daphine came as a paying child, but now both her parents have lost their jobs, it is a struggle for them to find food to eat for their family, they can no longer pay for her to go to school. Soon after her father lost his job, he left and Daphine hasn't heard from him since then. Daphine went home over one of the holidays and her mother couldn't afford transportation to send her back to school so she missed out on an entire term until Transforming Uganda was able to bring her back. Daphine has five brothers, that live with her mother and go to school elsewhere.
