See what our sponsors and children are saying about their experience.
“We love children and sponsoring Joyce and Joseph through Transforming Uganda has been an extension of what God has called us to do. It is such a blessing to know that they are being so well cared for as they daily grow to love God.”
“Transforming Uganda has provided for my child by providing more than just the basics of food, clothes and shelter. They provide a home for children that have no home. They provide a place where children who are neglected and abused can feel safe and loved. They provide excellent education which they would not otherwise receive. This education provides them with the opportunity to not only exceed in their own lives but to make a difference in the lives of others by becoming a future transformer of Uganda.”
“Uganda was placed on my heart several years ago. Since then I’ve began sponsoring three children. When I began sponsoring I didn’t think I could afford to sponsor one. Then I realized that showing love to these children far outweighed the cost, so I sponsored two more.
I’ve had the honor of meeting all three of my children. I thought my financial support was going to change their lives. It wasn’t until I met them that I discovered my support not only changed their lives, it greatly impacted mine. ”
“Traveling to Uganda when I was eighteen years old, I wasn’t sure what I could do to make a difference in the world.
I had seen so much in my first few days and immediately fell in love with the children of Transforming Uganda. I always tell people that I didn’t pick a child, but the children picked me and changed my life forever. ”
“I chose to sponsor a child because I love the children of Uganda and because I wanted to help in any way I could. I felt a sense of responsibility to help someone who was not raised with the same privileges and opportunities that we have here in America.”
“I chose to sponsor Jessy specifically because he and I bonded my first day there. When I first arrived at the orphanage, I was overwhelmed by the hundreds of children eager to meet us. I didn’t know any of them and was just standing in this busy crowd when I felt a small hand grab a hold of mine. I looked down to see Jessy holding onto my hand and looking up at me with his huge wondering eyes. He was very young and didn’t speak English yet so we couldn’t communicate in the traditional sense but he made it very clear that I was not somebody that he was going to let go of. He led me to his house where I spent time with him and his house mum. I spent most of the day with Jessy attached to me and will never forget that first day when Jessy found me. He has been a part of my heart ever since. ”
“For nine years I have watched my sponsor children grow into healthy young men of character destined to change their world. Sponsoring my boys has brought greater meaning and purpose to my life. Our relationship has grown deep, and I consider them to be a part of my family. When I was eighteen, and I set out to try to change the world I found that through sponsorship I could at least change the world for one child.”
